What Is The "Waitlist"
The “waitlist” is not a reservation list to reserve your miner or spot in line. When applying for the wait list you are essentially on a list to get direct notifications for when the inventory is updated on the website for that particular product. When an order is cancelled or payment time expires, it will automatically add inventory back to the website and will notify people on the waitlist. If you visit the site and it shows out of stock after receiving notification, then they have already sold out again.
Which ASIC Miner Is The Best For Me?
When deciding between the different models of miners, there are two essential qualities that you’ll need to keep in mind. Hash Rate and Energy Consumption. Hash rate is the number of calculations that your chip can perform every second. The higher your hash rate, the better chance you have of solving the cryptographic challenge, and collecting a block reward.
Energy consumption is also essential to consider. To calculate how much a unit will cost you in electricity, multiply the number of watts it uses with the number of hours you plan to use it in a day. Take that number, divide it by 1000, and you’ve got your kilowatt hours for the day. Next, you can pull up your electricity bill and find out how much you are charged per kilowatt hour(kWh). Multiply your electric rate with your kilowatt hours, and you know your energy costs for the day.
Are ASIC Miners Better Than GPU Miners?
Today, the most powerful way to mine cryptocurrency is with an Application-Specific Integrated Circuit(ASIC). The CPU is designed to be useful for a variety of tasks, and not as fast as specific repetitive tasks as the GPU. ASIC takes this specialization even further. These units are made to operate on only one specific function, which allows them to perform incredibly well at that task. The downside is that they are entirely useless for any other purpose. Their efficiency is so great that it becomes nearly impossible to earn anything with a GPU based rig, once an ASIC is released for an algorithm.
What Algorithm For What Coin?
Mining algorithms are the algorithms or functions that make the task of mining cryptocurrencies possible. There are various algorithms, each with its own characteristics adapted to the cryptocurrencies that make use of them. Below are the most popular crypto mining algorithms.
SHA-256 Algorithm:
The original cryptocurrency hash algorithm is Bitcoin’s SHA-256 or seen as SHA-256d – the the “d” part of SHA-256d denotes the double of hash iterations (SHA256^2 or “SHA256 function squared”). Besides Bitcoin, this algorithm can be used for mining a number of other coins, including:
BitcoinCash (BCH)
DigiByte (DGB)
Peercoin (PPC)
Universal (UNIT)
Deutsche eMark(DEM)
Bytecoin (BTE)
Scrypt Algorithm:
Litecoin popularized using the Scrypt algorithm for cryptocurrency in 2011, and Dogecoin adopted it in 2013. Besides Litecoin and Dogecoin, Scrypt is also in use by the following coins and others:
GameCredits (GAME)
DigiByte (DGB)
Gulden(NLG)
Aricoin (ARI)
Linx (LINX)
Florin (FLO)
Einsteinium (EMC2)
Verge (XVG)
Ethash Algorithm:
This mining algorithm is the result of the union of various algorithms to give it origin. First, Ethash depends on the hash function called Keccak o SHA-3. In addition to this function, it also uses a version of the Dagger and Hashimoto hashes, for which Ethash was initially known as Dagger-Hashimoto. However, Ethash has changed a lot over time and its initial implementation is far from the current one.
Ethash was designed to be the network’s mining algorithm Ethereum. Its main characteristics were its resistance to mining using ASIC devices, and for this it uses a structure that uses a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph). This is because its creators sought to maintain GPU mining and avoid centralizing it.
Ethash is currently a widely used algorithm. Mostly used to mine:
Ethereum
Ethereum Classic
Musicoin
Expanse
WhaleCoin
X11 Algorithm:
The X11 uses 11 different algorithms, hashes incredibly fast, and requires less processing power compared to other popular algorithms. We carry the Antminer D3 for mining X11 cryptocurrencies, including:
Dash (DASH)
Cannabiscoin (CANN)
Monoeci (XMCC)
Paccoin ($PAC)
MonetaryUnit (MUE)
Prime-XI (PXI)
